History of the origin Golejewko Stud
Golejewko is situated in province wielkopolskie (old province leszczyńskie) in a district of some 10 km from Rawicz and some 50 km on a southeast from Leszno, near the track Poznań-Wrocław.
The Golejewko’s history dates back to the earliest so epoches of stones, bronze and łużycka culture from which epoches come from the excavations at the cemetary of łużycka culture in Chojno and Golejewko.
Golejewko was a site known as early as in the Middle Ages. In those times, a Polish stronghold called Czestram was located here. The papal bull issued by Innocent II for Gniezno archbishop in 1136 mentioned Czestram Chojno – Golejewko. It was one of the oldest forts inWielkopolska with permanent military garrison. The watchtower with archway and earthen ramparts still called Czestram survived till our times. The oldest owner of Czestram was Choińscy (crest Habdank). Next Golejewko was owned by Rogaliński, Bronikowski, then it belonged to a German baron Gendorf who sold it in the first middle of XIX century to Marceli Count Czarnecki. In 1848 he built a palace on themedieval foundations, as a wedding gift to his son. Horse stud was established by then owner of the property Count Janusz Czarnecki in 1921. In period interwar two decades Golejewko was leading and one of the biggest horses stud full english blood (other fulblut) in Poland. Acreage of Count Czarnecki’s property was 2000 ha. In the time of the second world war most of the horses disappeared. After the war in 1945 year Golejewko was nationalized within the confines of rural reform and taken over by Horses Breeding Institute. In 1950 Golejewko along with neighboring farms has been taken over by Central Management of Breeding of horses, creating group with headquarter in Żołędnica.
In July 1957 Stud Farm has been divided on Polish Center of Cultivating of animals Żołędnica and Golejewko Stud in which composition entered farms Chojno, Roszkówko, and Zmysłowo about surface 1200 ha. In Golejewko emerged Stud Farm horses full english blood, and in Roszkówko Stud Farm semi-blood. Such state of thing lasted untill 1 July 1961 when both units have been jointed group to one again Żołędnica Stud in headquarter in Żołędnica . Next organizational changes has followed within the confines of restructuring of enterprise in 1993 to result of that again Golejewko with Chojno farm has been singled out from Żołędnica group.
1 July 1993 emerged company with name Golejewko Stud company with limited liability.
